FreeCell X FOR MAC

FreeCell X is a minimalist FreeCell clone for the macOS platform that features the familiar design and layout that you are used with from playing FreeCell on Windows. The app also provides a few statistics and comes with a standard card deck.

As soon as you launch FreeCell X, you will notice a standard macOS window and the 3 card deck piles (the top ones being empty, initially). The background is green and the cards are plain-looking. In a nutshell, FreeCell X eliminates any visual distraction and allows you to focus on the game at hand.

The rules are the same as in any classic FreeCell game. You must fill in the Foundation (top right) pile with cards from the Tableau (bottom) pile. To move a card, just click it and then click the spot you want to move the card to. Note that dragging and dropping is not supported.

Within the game interface, you can view the number of moves left and the total cards left. The FreeCell X provides basic statistics in a separate window: number of games played and games won, win percentage, current win streak and best win streak. If you want to reset the data, you can do so with a click.

To sum up, FreeCell X is not the most sophisticated FreeCell variant for OS X, but manages to bring the classic solitaire game to Apple’s platform. The rules are the same and the interface looks familiar. If you want to play FreeCell on your Mac, this app is what you are looking for.
