Freeze Lag Emulation

Testing the behavior of your network, be it wireless or LAN, can provide numerous insights into its shortcomings and potential issues. For instance, most networks carry inherent delays, errors, as well as packet drops, which can all amount to decreased transmission speed, and an array of other sub-par parameters, which accumulated can result in significant or sometimes hard-to-perceive performance decreases.

Having the right means to perform network testing is essential, and Freeze Lag Emulation was designed specifically for such purposes, and it will tackle such issues from a traffic point of view.

The app will allow you to selectively stop either inbound or outbound traffic. This can be done manually, by either altering the characteristics of the corresponding configuration file, which can be found in the app’s installation directory, or by inputting the preferred state in the GUI.

To that end, users will have to input the corresponding text string for each state, i.e. “inbound” or “outbound” in the designated input field, and then initialize the selected state using the provided button.

This will halt all network traffic for either outbound packets, or for inbound ones, and this can be verified quite simply, by running a simple browser test.
