Frink is a cool tool that helps you do all sorts of calculations and conversions between different measurement units. The best part? You don't have to struggle with a confusing user interface. It even has its own programming language but doesn't hog your computer's resources!
This app runs on Java, so make sure you have the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) installed on your Mac before launching Frink.
You'll find all of Frink's features in a neat little window divided into two parts: at the bottom, you can type in what you want to calculate, and right above it, you'll see the results pop up.
Frink offers four different viewing modes! You can easily switch between them using the Mode menu or quick hotkeys:
You can do simple operations with Frink, but it's capable of handling more complex stuff too! This includes advanced math functions, date and time conversions, unit conversions, currency exchange rates, and even translating text into different languages.
If you're curious about everything Frink has to offer, check out the online documentation. There's also a link to the Frink data file for non-changing units.
You should know that Frink doubles as a programming language too! It supports functions, arrays, loops—you name it! If you're into coding for small mobile devices or object-oriented programming, just switch to Programming mode where you can write and run your code.
The best part about Frink is how easy it makes accessing tons of tools and functions through its straightforward interface. The commands are pretty intuitive. But if you ever get stuck or want to learn more about what it does, just dive into the detailed documentation!
