Once you get it installed, which is quick and straightforward, you'll find yourself in a clean and simple interface. This makes it easy to start building your family tree! You can add spouses, kids, siblings—you name it!

Create Relationships and Events

You can also create relationships like marriages or add events like birthdays. Plus, there’s an option to include notes or multimedia files. Want to keep track of where you found your info? You can add submitters and sources too!

Design Your Family Tree

With GenealogyJ, you can select roots for trees or blueprints for families. It even lets you set bookmarks so you don’t lose track of important details. You can examine and edit tables filled with family information easily.

Generate Reports

The app allows you to put together some cool reports using various templates! Think age pyramids, charts showing your ancestors, lists of descendants, events sorted by month or place—there are tons of options!

During our tests, GenealogyJ ran smoothly without any crashes or error messages. It’s lightweight too; it doesn’t hog your computer's memory or CPU.

Interface Tips

While the app has many great features for organizing family trees based on different criteria, the layout isn’t the most intuitive at first. So be ready to spend a little time getting used to where everything is! Just keep in mind that no recent updates have come out yet.
