Gold Spot

Gold Spot is a small widget that shows the gold price movement through a chart provided by Kitco.com, directly on your desktop. It is easy to install and set up, regardless of the user's experience level.

After a brief installation operation, you are welcomed by a small frame that you can move to any position on the desktop, by using the mouse cursor.

Aside from the graphical representation of the gold price movement, you can view up to three currency rates, which can be configured from the Widget Preferences screen, together with the update interval.

You can open the context menu to immediately open the Kitco, Oanda, Xenon or Yahoo! Finance websites in the default web browser.

Thanks to the default options provided by the Yahoo! Widget Engine, you can set the frame to stay on top or below all the other windows, to ignore mouse events and to prevent dragging. Plus, you can adjust its opacity level between 20% and 100%.

The lightweight tool does not put a strain on the computer's overall performance, since it uses a very low quantity of CPU and system memory. It has a good response time and works smoothly, without causing the operating system to hang, crash or pop up error dialogs. Thanks to its intuitive layout and overall simplicity, Gold Spot should please the entire audience.
