Description
GoogleTel
GoogleTel is a handy little tool that helps you quickly export your Gmail contacts into a document or even print them out. If you’ve got a bunch of contacts and need their phone numbers, this is the perfect solution!
Why Use GoogleTel?
So, here’s the deal: when you're working with lots of contacts, the Gmail service only lets you export names in a *.csv file. That can be pretty limiting! But with GoogleTel, you can actually see all your contact info in a clean table right in your browser.
Easy to Save and Print
This tool makes it super easy to save your data. You can grab it as a text file, put it in a spreadsheet, or even save it as a PDF. Plus, you can print everything out directly from the tool—something you can't normally do from your Gmail account!
A Simple Command Line Tool
GoogleTel runs through the Command Line, so it's pretty straightforward. The documentation guides you step-by-step on how to get everything set up and running smoothly.
Using Google Contacts
If you're ready to get started, just head over to your Contacts page while logged into your Google account and pick the Export option. Just so you know, depending on what version of Gmail you're using, you might need to switch back to an older view.
The Export Process
Select the contacts you'd like to use and export them in Google CSV format. Make sure to save that file on your computer! Then, move that file into the same folder where GoogleTel.exe and GoogleTel.html are stored.
Extracting Your Data
Now it's time to run the executable! Open up GoogleTel.html in any web browser of your choice. What’s cool is that GoogleTel only pulls out entries with phone numbers from that *.csv file and shows them all neatly in a table.
Your Next Steps
From there, exporting your data into any supported format is easy peasy! You can also print it all out without any hassle.
