If you’re a practicing physician, then you already know that keeping track of your patients’ records is just as important as actively working to cure their illnesses. Fortunately, you no longer have to keep stacks of medical records written on paper. There are already many programs that can help you do that in a tidy digital manner, and they are usually known as EMR (Electronic Medical Records) or EHR (Electronic Health Records).

Today we’re going to take a look at an application that goes by the name of Healthroad.

There’s nothing fancy about Healthroad’s interface, as the program is designed in a minimalistic way. This means that it can probably work on many systems without consuming too many resources. Even so, it appears intuitive and easy-to-use, and you shouldn’t have any trouble understanding its various features.

The program allows you to create a sort of database with all your patients and all the important information related to them. You begin by adding basic information, like name, gender, identification number, phone number, email, address etc. and you then proceed to adding their medical problems, the medications that you have prescribed to them, and even their allergies.

Healthroad also allows you to type notes while you examine patients or whenever you feel the need to add observations. With this application you can also create a detailed list of every visit, by adding important values, such as temperature, weight and height, respiratory rate, blood glucose or pulse rate. Attach all the important details regarding every investigation, diagnosis, treatment and prescription, so that you’re always up to date.

While it offers templates that you can easily follow, you still have to do all the work of creating your own database of patients, medical problems and medications. But after you add most of the data, Healthroad becomes a powerful and versatile tool that can have a positive impact on your workflow.
