Computer activity generates temporary files that pile up in time and end up occupying a significant amount of storage space that would otherwise be used more productively. A cluttered computer might result in slower processing and delayed system responses. That is why periodical maintenance and system optimization are recommended.
As its name implies, Hekasoft System Cleaner can scan your computer for unnecessary files generated by applications and the operating system itself, helping you clean it up.
No installation is required, as Hekasoft System Cleaner starts as soon as you double click on the executable file. The interface is well organized but do not expect a very modern look.
Hekasoft System Cleaner displays a list of all the applications it supports, including web browsers, email clients, media players, and Windows itself.
To be noted that there is a standard list, containing all the compatible applications, no matter if they are installed on the local computer or not. For instance, you will be able to see Firefox or Chrome in the list, even if you are using Internet Explorer and no other browser is available on the system. While it would be more practical to exclude missing applications, Hekasoft System Cleaner only displays a null value as the number of bytes to be cleaned for those particular programs.
Hekasoft System Cleaner can remove browser cookies and history, temporary Internet files, crash reports, thumbnails, and bookmark backups, browser cache, and activity logs. Moreover, it can scan for unnecessary data related to Windows crashes, thumbnail and icon cache, kernel dumps, and more. There are individual tick boxes that enable you to choose the item you want Hekasoft System Cleaner to look for and remove. On the downside, once the scanning process starts, there is no way to stop it unless you shut down Hekasoft System Cleaner.
Hekasoft System Cleaner can remove unneeded files on your computer, performing one of the steps you need to take to maintain the system in top shape. You can use it to get information about the hardware and software configuration of the PC, but this is clearly a secondary function.
