Hex Reader is an application that facilitates the simplest interface possible for directly examining a file via hexadecimal display, regardless of its format. It features just a couple of options that can be configured with ease by all types of users.

The setup procedure requires minimal user attention and doesn't come bundled with third-party components. On the other hand, you must have .NET Framework installed, since it was developed with the aid of this platform.

When it comes to the interface, Hex Reader opts for a standard .NET Framework form, where you can resort to the file browser by clicking a button, in order to find and open the file whose hex code you want to view.

Loading all information may take a while in the next step, depending on the size of the file. You can check out the current and total number of lines, as well as ask the utility to seek 1000 less or more lines, depending on your preferences.

There are no buttons implemented for copying hex code to the Clipboard, printing it, or exporting it to file. However, you can select and copy text by triggering the global Ctrl+C key combination or by opening the right-click menu. There are no other notable settings provided by this piece of software.

We haven't come across any stability issues in our tests, thanks to the fact that it didn't put a strain on the computer's performance, running on a low amount of CPU and RAM. No error dialogs popped up and it didn't hang or crash.

On the other hand, the rudimentary-looking interface with unpolished graphical elements makes Hex Reader look like an unfinished software project. Other than that, it delivers a speedy solution for quickly viewing the hexadecimal code of any file in a simple environment.
