When you first start using the app, you'll need to create a password. This password will pop up every time you want to access the program. It’s super simple and ensures only you can unlock your hidden folders.

Locking and Unlocking Folders

Once you've picked your folder, just hit the “Lock” button. This makes that folder disappear from sight! Just a heads up: it doesn’t encrypt it with a password, it just hides it.

Easily Reveal Your Folders

If you ever need to unlock a folder, just press the corresponding button, and voila! It pops back into view instantly.

No Folder List Available

A bit of a downside is that there's no list showing all your locked folders. You’ll have to remember where they are or search for them like usual on your computer. They do have a unique code (kind of like a file extension) making them easier to spot.

Limitations on Locking Multiple Folders

Another drawback? You can’t lock multiple folders at once! That’s something we thought would be included since it's such a basic need.

You might also run into trouble changing the password if you're using Windows 7 due to some compatibility issues. But don’t worry; it works great on XP!

Uninstalling Tips

Just remember: if you decide to uninstall Hide My Files, make sure all your folders are unlocked first! If not, they’ll be deleted automatically when you remove the app.
