Developed for a game jam session, Hungry Arcade Machine is an arcade styled game with a twist: the hero is a arcade machine on the loose. Since it hadn’t been fed for a long time, the machine is hungry for quarters, but it will also chomp humans to replenish some of its health.

Unlike most arcade machines, yours has legs that allow it to move around, can jump to avoid obstacles, and may even hide in plain sight to lure arcade players close enough to take a good bite.

The game controls are intuitive enough, and you get usage instructions as you go along, so make sure to read all the messages on the walls.

Given the fact that you change your perspective by moving the mouse around, you might find it difficult to orientate at first. However, once you get a grasp on how the controls work, it's all fun and games.

Within the Hungry Arcade Machine game universe, it seems that the way in which an arcade machine can improve its health is strongly related to eating humans. As a result, you must make sure to chomp some before your health level goes too low.

Hungry Arcade Machine comes with an interesting premise and has fun with the idea of an arcade machine that cannot stand being tossed aside. Like with any other arcade game, you have to be patient to master its controls.

As a side note, the blood splatting animations and the humans swiveling in the machine’s mouth until they are completely chomped are not precisely shocking, but can take you aback just a little.
