For better or for worse, launchers are abundant in this day and age. Mostly for the worse, because if you’re unfortunate enough, you may have to install a storefront’s dedicated launcher just to play a single game.

Any effort to consolidate at least some of the many launchers we have today is appreciated, and  HyperPlay aims to do just that. It’s a launcher for the  Epic Games and GOG storefronts, while also providing some titles of its own, which can be installed free of charge. In addition to that, the app also offers support for various crypto wallets for convenience.

While the Epic launcher is a bit of a controversial one, mostly due to its lack of polish and quality of life features, integrating it into another solution like so should at least make for a more bearable experience. Your library will be retrieved and integrated into  HyperPlay, and you’ll be able to enjoy your games without needing to interact with Epic.

A quick word on the Epic authentication: I would recommend using the alternative login method. The regular one was troublesome in my case due to the CAPTCHAS which refused to let me through, so save yourself some frustration by using the alternative method.

Despite all of that, Epic integration worked well enough. As for GOG, authenticating was no issue, and my library was retrieved all the same.

If you’re interested, then you’ll be happy to know that various crypto wallets are supported by way of MetaMask integration. This essentially enables you to more easily manage transactions or signatures that require such a wallet in the games that support it.

Curiously, you also get access to the  HyperPlay catalog, where you’ll be able to find a series of free-to-play titles that may catch your eye. Some even feature crypto support, so there’s also that.

HyperPlay looks promising enough. While it may be a bit slow at times, I’d say it shows enough promise as it is. It integrates Epic and GOG pretty well, so if you’re not a fan of either of those launchers, this one might be worth a shot.
