Dedicated to web designers, ImgTag is a simple plugin specially made for Notepad++, the text and code editor, which enables you to effortlessly insert HTML image tags by just indicating the pictures on the computer.
This way, it spares you the trouble of typing the IMG tags and saves you valuable time that can be focused on other activities.
To get this extension up and running, all you have to do is extract the DLL from the downloaded archive, copy it to the "plugins" folder of Notepad++, and restart the text editor if it was already launched.
This works whether you have an installer or portable edition of Notepad++. Also, you must have .NET Framework installed on your PC. Next, you can open the "Plugins" menu from the main window to view the new "ImgTag" entry.
To insert image tags, you can use the popup file browser to navigate disk directories and open the picture (or press Alt+I). The supported file types are .jpg, .jpeg, .png. .gif and .bmp.
The picture is introduced in the HTML code with its original size. However, you can update the image size (Alt+U) and resize the image (Alt+R) as well as rename (Alt+N) and show it (Alt+S).
Moreover, you can insert an entire gallery of images by selecting the folders with the thumbnails and full-sized photos (they must have the same names), specifying the number of columns, as well as by entering the link class and rel (relationship).
Keyboard shortcuts are supported, which should be able to streamline the entire process of quickly adding image tags and making adjustments. We haven't experienced any issues with ImgTag on the latest Windows and Notepad++ versions in our tests.
