Informer Widget

Informer Widget is a widget developed for the Yahoo! Widget Engine that provides users with a simple solution to monitor some of their system components, such as the memory usage and CPU level. But it integrates other powerful functions as well.

Once installed, Informer Widget creates a transparent horizontal dosk just above the taskbar. It may seem confusing at a first glance, so make sure to check out the brief Readme file.

This transparent dock can be filled with sensors, either by selecting them from a list or by using the "drag and drop" function.

For instance, you can monitor the battery life, view a CPU graph and meter, immediately eject the USB drive, check your Gmail account, power off the computer, view the PC's uptime and check the WiFi signal.

These are just a few options provided by the app. You can create shortcuts to files, folders and drives, launch a website, send items to the Recycle Bin, as well as move or copy files to directories.

The widget comes with numerous configurable settings. For instance, you can adjust the space between the sensors, assign a hotkey for bringing the Informer window to the front of the screen, as well as integrate an RSS reader, calendar and email client.

But you may also adjust the dock's position, change its colors and opacity, enable sound notifications for sensors, choose the popup background color, establish the file path to SpeedFan, enable multi-monitor support, make the frame stay on top of other windows, and so on.
