Increasing efficiency or ergonomics in both personal and professional endeavors can be a good way of enhancing your user experience, and these days there are a load of tips and tricks that can help you achieve such tasks. For instance, using hotkeys instead of actually accessing menus for corresponding functions. InstaBracket, just as its name aptly suggests, was designed in order to offer you an automated way of filling parentheses, double quotes, and more, when inputting text strings in various applications.
The application features a ridiculously simple setup operation, and before you know it, it will be ready to go. However, you actually don’t know it, since there is no confirmation of a successful installation or not, and that left me trying to reinstall it several times.
However, its functionality is revealed only when you start to input text into whichever app you prefer. To that end, despite lacking any installation confirmation, I believe that this offers straightforward, unobtrusive behavior.
Continuing the streak of potential weaknesses that I stated regarding the installation, I couldn’t help but notice that there is no way of addressing any settings, as well as performing any changes regarding the behavior of the app.
This might not be such a major drawback, but there might be aspects that you could wish to adjust, such as the number of parentheses that are to be filled, or their type, in applications regarding inputting mathematical formulae, for instance.
While not having the most evident functionality, this application provides a simple and efficient way of automatically filling and/or closing parentheses, or quotation signs, when inputting text in various fields.
