Intermapper Flows

Intermapper Flows is a reliable and complex software solution that was designed as an Intermapper component, which helps you obtain detailed information about the traffic in your network, focusing on a preferred map in order to assist you in identifying heavy traffic with minimal effort.

The tool can be accessed by right-clicking a certain entry in Intermapper’s ‘Map List’ component, then selecting the ‘Flows Window’ from the menu.

The main window of Intermapper Flows allows you to quickly determine top talkers and listeners, the protocols that are currently being used, the top sessions or conversions as well as other info for the targeted machines.

Intermapper Flows requires the existence of at least one Flows Exporter, as it enables the program to gather and store data from these devices. Supported exports include NetFlow 1, 5, 7 and 9, sFlow 2, 4 and 5, JFlow and CFlow version 5.

The collected data can be visualized simultaneously in the form of a graph, a pie chart and a table, in order to cover all relevant areas and help you learn everything you may need to know.

As such, you can discover more about the ‘Top Host’ for a given time interval,(which you can select from the dedicated menu), but also the ‘Top Ports, ‘Top VLANs’ and ‘Top Sessions’.

The filter functions in the application’s ribbon help you define which device types to focus on, while from the ‘Flows Settings’ section, you can view, add or remove exporters from your list, adjust its appearance or functioning parameters, as well as the database preferences.
