IP-Sniff

A great deal of information and insight can be found when analyzing network traffic. Regardless of your end purpose, being able to monitor traffic for a given IP, can provide a good view into the elements and software that are either sending or receiving packages, or both, and improving aspects such as network security or bandwidth capability are just some of the numerous potential applications. Specialized apps, such as IP-Sniff, tackle such requirements.

This command-line-based application was developed specifically in order to offer users the means to capture and analyze IP traffic, for a given network adapter. Due to its specificity and inherent characteristics, it will allow users to rely on several protocols in order to capture and filter IP traffic.

IP-Sniff comes equipped with an integrated Interprocess-Communication (IC) client, which will allow one to forward the monitored and filtered IP traffic to other, third-party applications that are running on the same system. The monitored data can also be forwarded to remote sites.

Users can tweak the data that is to be forwarded, as follows: either the payload data or, the entire IP-frame shell. This can be applied in conjunction with several filters, on separate IPC channels.
