ISSIGraph

Those of you working in architecture, game design or pretty much any line of work where you work with drawing, especially the technical kind, know how much wireframe drawings matter. The problem with most software tools that handle this issue is that they are usually bulky when it comes to resource consumption and disk space. For those of you looking for an alternative, ISSIGraph is a neat software tool that offers pretty much the same features, but in a much lighter package.

Draw basic 2D or 3D wire frame figures

One of the program's main purposes is to design wireframe shapes in both 2D and 3D, which themselves can be later used in other programs that work with them. These shapes can be drawn from scratch or made up using the presets provided by the application, or they can be imported from XML files containing them. Despite sounding so simplistic, ISSIGraph fits the requirements of the Graphic Representation of Implicit Surfaces subject for the Master Degree of ISSI Department at UNED.

If you're planning on doing serious work, and not just simple shapes, you should know the program also offers easy NURBS and Bezier surface editor with up to 32 control points. More so, complex drawings are made possible thanks to the quadrics editor, text editor, color selection for each object and alpha blending. Once the drawing is complete, you can choose to either save the XML file with the new changes or save it in the form of a new image, in a variety of supported formats (JPEG, PNG, and BMP)

While still lacking some of the features that could make the program an ideal 3D modeling tool, the app still offers enough features to make itself stay relevant.
