Description
Java HTML and RTF Viewer
Java HTML and RTF Viewer is a straightforward software tool built in Java. It lets you open and read files formatted in HTML and RTF. Just a heads up, this tool is all about viewing. It doesn’t have any editing features, so you can’t make changes to the documents.
Easy to Use Interface
The whole program comes in one small executable .jar file. You can easily save it wherever you want on your computer or even toss it onto a USB drive. This means you can run it on any machine that has Java installed, without messing with system settings or leaving extra files behind. If you want to remove it, just delete that .jar file!
Minimalistic Design
The interface of Java HTML and RTF Viewer is super simple. You get one window with a clean layout that makes it easy to find and open your files using the file browser. However, if your documents have tables or images, they won’t show up in the viewer. On the bright side, hyperlinks work! You can click them, and they’ll open in your default web browser.
No Extra Features
You might notice some special characters don’t display correctly; they’re replaced with empty squares instead. There’s no context menu either, but you can still highlight text and copy it by using Ctrl+C. Other than that, there aren’t many features included.
No Stability Issues
We didn’t run into any stability problems while testing Java HTML and RTF Viewer. The software didn’t crash or freeze at all! Plus, it uses only a little bit of CPU and RAM, so it won't slow down your computer.
A Few Downsides
Overall, Java HTML and RTF Viewer has a pretty limited range of features for displaying HTML and RTF documents. And it's been a while since there were updates for this software.
If you're looking for something simple to read documents without any bells and whistles, check out the Java HTML and RTF Viewer.
