Translate with Ease

This app lets you translate words between Sinhala and English. You can even type in just part of a word, and it will show you a full list of matching terms. So if there's a word you want to remember, you can bookmark it for later!

Definitions at Your Fingertips

If you're curious about what a word means, JHat Dictionary helps you find definitions using several online services. Just keep in mind that you'll need an Internet connection since it doesn't store any data locally.

Listen and Learn

Once you've found the English version of a Sinhala word, you can use the text-to-speech feature to hear how it's pronounced! It's great for practicing your pronunciation while learning.

Extract Text from Images

The app also has an optical character recognition (OCR) tool that lets you pull text from images or other media. However, during our tests, we found that this feature could be hit or miss when it came to accuracy.

User Interface Needs Improvement

While JHat Dictionary does its job well overall, it could really use some work on its user interface. Right now, there's only one theme available, and the see-through design might not suit everyone's style. Plus, when using different features, new windows pop up with animations that can't be turned off—kind of distracting!

User Manual Challenges

A comprehensive user manual is included with the app, but here's the catch: it's not in English. So if you're new to this kind of thing, getting started might be tricky without some extra help.
