Many streamers and content creators like to show viewers their controllers or mouse and keyboard while playing, and there are several ways to go about this. While you can take the simple route and just have a camera recording your hands, it is also possible to generate a real-time 3D representation of the devices.
Joystick Visualizer is an open-source application that generates a 3D model of your joystick, which can be used as an overlay by your streaming software. It supports a number of popular devices and comes with detailed documentation.
Once you’ve unpacked the archive, you will notice that there are two executable files in the directory. The Joystick Proxy utility is used to select the devices that will be enabled, while the Joystick Visualizer application generates the 3D models.
The models are displayed on a flat colored background, the intention being to allow you to apply a chroma key and use them as overlays with streaming software such as OBS or XSplit. Once configured, joystick movements should be displayed in real-time, and you can place the overlay anywhere on your screen.
While local documentation is not available, the developer has provided you with a configuration guide on the project's GitHub page. It would certainly be a good idea to read it before using the software, and a list of compatible devices is also available here.
