Kdenlive Builder Wizard is a handy script made with Kommander to help you grab the latest development version of Kdenlive, which is a cool non-linear video editor for KDE. If you're looking to get into video editing with some awesome features, this tool is for you!
There's always a lot going on with Kdenlive, but the stable releases can take a while to drop. This is where the Kdenlive Builder Wizard really shines! It helps you build from the development sources so you can enjoy all the new features sooner.
Now, building Kdenlive from those dev versions can be tricky since it also relies on development versions of ffmpeg, mlt, and mlt++. But don't sweat it! This wizard takes away most of that hassle. You just need to answer a few questions and click a few buttons.
Once you're ready, hit “Go,” and it will automatically fetch or update your sources, configure everything, compile it, and install it for you. How easy is that? If all goes well, you'll soon have a working version of Kdenlive's development edition.
If something doesn’t work out right away, don’t worry! You’ll get access to a complete log of what happened during the process. That way, if there are any issues like missing libraries or something else that doesn't compile properly (sometimes developers check in stuff that causes hiccups), you can figure it out before giving it another shot with the wizard.
This tool has mainly been tested on Kubuntu 7.10 using Kommander 1.2.2. If you run into any bugs or issues while using it, feel free to send over your bug reports via email (check the about box for my contact info). And hey—if everything works great for you, I’d love to hear about your success too!
