With the numerous services, email addresses and accounts we are using every single day, remembering all the passwords is surely impossible, especially if we are talking about really secure credentials. That is why having a password manager can be so useful and the online world surely does not lack such tools, some better than others.

One open-source password manager is suggestively called KeepSafe, providing a software tool that is ready to help you store credentials securely.

If you are using KeepSafe for the first time, then you must take the time to configure your account and your master password. Once you do so, the application prompts you to restart it and login with your username and the master password.

You begin by creating a new category for the credentials you are about to store. All the categories are neatly displayed in the left-side panel, while the right-side panel reveals all the passwords and their corresponding usernames in the selected category. Entries in the password list can be easily modified: you can edit the username, the password, delete and view any entry.

All the passwords and usernames are stored in an encrypted database, so that no one can access the data without your consent.

KeepSafe features a minimalistic design, allowing you to organize your records in different categories and easily manage them from a simple window. Nevertheless, unlike more advanced tools in this category, it only allows you to store usernames and passwords and nothing else, such as confidential notes, cards, identities and contacts, and so on. Moreover, it does not come with a password generator, as it usually happens with password managers. From this point of view, KeepSafe is quite a limited application, but if you are on the lookout for a simple tool, it can do the trick.
