What is KIso FOR LINUX?

KIso

KIso is your go-to tool for KDE that makes it super easy to create, extract, and mess around with CD image files. It's perfect for anyone who needs to work with ISO or NRG images.

What’s New in KIso

So, let’s talk about the latest updates! KIso 0.1 and KIso 0.1.1 were built using GAMBAS, but since Gambas is still in Alpha and kinda unpredictable, I decided to switch things up a bit and rewrite it in C++. From KIso 0.2 onwards, you’ll find that everything runs on C++ now.

Key Features of KIso

Here are some cool features:

  • Open ISO and NRG images.

  • Create an ISO image from a CD.

  • Conveniently make your own ISO images.

  • Convert NRG files into ISO images.

  • Change BIN/CUE files into ISO images.

  • Convert MDF into ISO images.

  • Turn CDI files into ISO images.

  • Convert CCD/IMG to ISO images.

  • Mount ISO/NRG as a virtual drive.

  • Extract content from an ISO/NRG image.

  • Create bootable images!

Requirements for KIso

If you're thinking about downloading KIso, here's what you'll need:

  • libcdio

  • mkisofs: This usually comes pre-installed with most Linux distributions.

  • sudо: Typically included in your distribution already.

  • mcrypt: If you want to create encrypted files, this is necessary!

Your Exciting Download Awaits!

If you want to download KIso now, you'll be set up in no time!

Bugs Fixed & Improvements

The latest release includes:

  • A brand new French translation!

  • A fix for the bug that incorrectly wrote entries into the sudoers file (thanks PhobosK!).

  • Cleanups in the preferences dialog—big shoutout to Fraenki Schroeder for that!

  • Bugs squashed and optimizations by Łukasz Sierzeńga!

  • A fix for drive detection by Fraenki Schroeder too!
