Language Reader

Programs that read the inputted text out loud using one of the built-in voices, has always been a great solution for those with poor vision or none, or children. It's an easy way to listen to various stories and find mistakes.

Language Reader is one of the many apps you can find on the Internet, that comes bundled with handy functions to offer an uncomplicated method to read and listen to texts or stories.

The installation is swift and requires a few mouse presses, while the interface is neat and accessible. A wizard or pet are your companions, similar to the ones Microsoft Office had. They can be switched from the menu. Quick commands are placed in plain sight for fast access.

You may need to download additional packages for both pets and reading languages. The supported file formats are TXT, RTF, DOC, XLS, PPT, PDF and HTM. However, they are saved only to TXT and RTF types.

It also comes with the standard edit options, such as undo, find and replace, copy, cut, and paste. If you have content stored in the clipboard, you can enter it directly. Unfortunately, it doesn't provide any kind of playback controls, or to adjust the volume.

From settings, you are able to choose your companion, the interface and reading language, and enable the auto-identify function. Another downside is the lack of formatting features, such as font types, sizes, and colors, as the text is small and hard to view.

Taking everything into account, Language Reader is a useful and user-friendly application that comes in handy for those who want to listen out loud to different texts, emails, messages, or stories. It comes with multiple language support, like German, French, English, Spanish, Italian and more.
