LanSuper can detect all shared computers in the local network, including shared files and folders to let you transfer objects to your own machine.
This networking utility features approachable options that can be tackled with ease even by those with little experience in such apps. It also facilitates a means of communication with other people using the same program by sending and receiving messages.
Installation isn't necessary, so you can download the app to any directory or pen drive to launch the application on any computer without setup and with minimum effort. It doesn't modify system registry settings or produce files on the disk without asking for approval.
The interface of LanSuper is outdated but simple to work with, thanks to the neatly structured layout that makes the options easy to spot. Additional settings are available through the context menu.
The tool can be instructed to look for all computers in LAN, provided that their visibility status is turned on. Depending on the hardware specifications of your PC, this scanning operation may take a while.
The list of results shows the name, IP address and description of each workstation. You can explore the shared directories and files of a selected machine, and export lists to plain text documents saved on your drive.
It's possible to send messages to one or more machines at a time using your real name or a fake one. The number of sending tries can be established in case the task fails, while shared files can be filtered by name or extension.
You can ask the application to browse the network for SQL or print servers and identify the version of the installed operating system, as well as to look up information about users for any specified server name or IP address. This includes details about the administrator, default and guest accounts.
LanSuper hasn't been updated for a long time, but most of its components worked well on the latest Windows edition in our tests. However, we failed in our attempt to get the message option to work. Otherwise, it carried out scan tasks in a decent amount of time while remaining low on resources usage.
LanSuper comes bundled with intuitive options for scanning the local network for shared computers, folders and files, as well as for copying items to your own computer. Too bad that it's no longer in development.
