LayoutSaver

In the eventuality that you are using the same apps when working on the computer, then there is a good chance that you are positioning all windows in a way that helps you be more productive. Then again, you still need to account for the time to arrange them properly, especially if you decide to do something else in the meantime or are just taking a break. LayoutSaver is a lightweight utility designed to save you the trouble of arranging layouts.

The application is portable, so you do not have to bother with installation or configuration. Simply launch the app and hit the dedicated save button to store the position and sizes of all windows currently opened. The app informs you that it saved the position of all the windows opened, even though the message is labeled as an error for some reason.

As you probably hinted, the Load button has the role of restoring the configuration, sizes and positions of previously saved windows. Again, the message is displayed with the Error title, but at this point it just seems like more of a typo from the developer.

As the developer points out, the application does not save any data and it also seems to not have extra rights on your PC. If you close it, the layout saved is lost as well. During our test, we noticed that the program does not proceed to opening programs that were closed in the meantime, which may be a deal-breaker for some.

It would have been nice if the app was capable of saving the layout so that you can launch your work, gaming or other layouts after you boot the PC. On the other hand,  the idea behind LayoutSaver seems to be as non intrusive as possible.
