LeoMoon QuickCrypt

We’re not going to ask exactly why you need file encryption, but if you really want that level of protection for your data, then you should make sure that you get it done right. There are, of course, many programs that can use ciphering algorithms to scramble your data into an incomprehensible (read “encoded”) piece of information, that you can only decode by using the same algorithm (and maybe a password). But which one should you choose?

Well, LeoMoon QuickCrypt is free and seems to do its job quite well.

From the program’s main interface, you can select the file you need to encrypt. You must also choose a password to protect your data, and make sure that you write it down somewhere, because you’ll need it whenever you want to decrypt your file again.

If you look at the application’s three tabs, you’ll notice that the third one is labeled Pass Gen. When you click it, you’ll see that LeoMoon QuickCrypt also has a password generating tool, which can instantly create a passcode with as many as 50 characters. You can even choose what type characters your code should contain: lowercase and uppercase letters, numbers and even special characters.

LeoMoon QuickCrypt uses the Advanced Encryption Standard algorithm, or AES for short. It’s an algorithm that was first adopted by the US Government, and later used worldwide. When encrypting your file, you also have the option of deleting the source, meaning that only the resulted encryption will remain on your computer.

The same algorithm is used for decrypting a file. This means that LeoMoon QuickCrypt can also be used to decode files that have been encrypted by other programs with the same standard (provided, of course, that you know the password). Considering that’s it’s so lightweight and easy-to-use, but yet so powerful, we can conclude that LeoMoon QuickCrypt is a very useful app if you want to keep your data safe.
