Letterpress is a fun word puzzle game that sports intuitive controls and allows you to play online, against other users from all over the world.
You get to create a Letterpress player account in no time, but keep in mind that you must provide an email address if you want to safeguard it.
Right off the bat, Letterpress presents you with the option to start a new game, either with a random player or with one of your favorite users. Naturally, you will have to input contacts into the favorites list beforehand.
Navigating through the game’s panels and setting up everything proves to be quite instinctive: within the game’s configuration panel you can access the How to Play and the Tips & Tricks resources, or even submit a new word to the Merriam-Webster dictionary.
The same area allows you to manage your account and favorites contacts and offers you the possibility to toggle the word validator, the sound effects, or the grouping titles function. Letterpress also comes with different interface themes, and you get to choose the one you want to use.
Letterpress is a turn based word game so you must submit the word you want to use and then wait until the other player makes its move. The best part is that there is no counter on the move: you can take as much time as you want.
Letterpress allows you to play more than one match at the same time, so if one of your opponents is taking too long, you can start up a new puzzle with someone else without forfeiting the game.
Note that each player has a different color assigned to the tiles that he is using in a word: the one that has the most tiles on the board covered with its colors wins. The fun part is that you can try to steal some of the opponent’s tiles even if he used them first.
To sum up, Letterpress is a simple word game that can be played online against other players and has quite simple playing rules.
Just wait for your turn, try to use as many tiles as possible, attempt to steal tiles from your opponent, and do not try to use the same word more than once.
