LiveNow (formerly known as WatchNow) is a super handy macOS app that connects you to your Twitch.tv account. It lets you keep an eye on your favorite channels right from your status bar, making it super easy to stay updated.

Get Notified Instantly

The cool thing about LiveNow is that it sends you notifications when your favorite streams go live. You can choose how you want to watch them – whether it’s in Safari, on the Twitch.tv website in your default browser, with the VLC app, or through the built-in mini video player!

User-Friendly Design

When you fire up LiveNow, a small menulet pops up in your status bar. Just log in with your Twitch.tv account name, and you'll see all the accounts you're following right there in the main window along with a Games section and your video streams.

No Password Needed!

You’ll be happy to know that LiveNow doesn’t require any password! This means you can enter just about any account name and check out their streams. Of course, what you see will be public info, which you could also find on the Twitch.tv website.

Tweak Your Streaming Preferences

If you want to customize things a bit more, head over to the LiveNow preferences panel. Here, you can set the quality of streaming videos and choose where you want to view them. Whether it's VLC player or Safari – it’s up to you!

Mini Player Option

You can also use the built-in mini player that gives you a resizable window for easy viewing right on your desktop! Just a heads-up though: since LiveNow doesn’t support Flash Player, commenting on streams isn’t possible.
