MacTubes is a super handy app for Mac OS X that makes it easy to play and download YouTube videos. It has a simple and clean interface, so you won’t feel lost trying to figure it out!

When you open MacTubes, you’ll see the main window where you can browse and create playlists. You can switch between list view and thumbnail view, which is pretty neat! Once you've found your clip, you can play it right in MacTubes. You can also search for related videos or other uploads by the same creator. If you want to keep it for later, adding it to one of your playlists or downloading it is super easy too! You can save videos as FLV, MP4, or even HD formats with resolutions like 720p or 1080p.

Tweak Your Settings

The built-in player does playback videos but keep in mind that it's not always in high resolution. Sometimes when you're in full-screen mode, it doesn’t fill the entire screen either. But no worries! You can choose another player through the Preferences window to fix this little hiccup.

Create Playlists Like a Pro!

The playlist feature works great! Use MacTubes as your music player by creating playlists filled with your favorite tunes and artists. It’s perfect for jamming while you work! You can sort your playlists by item number, author name, time, views count, rating, or date—so everything stays organized.

Customize Your Experience

If you're looking to tweak things a bit more, head over to the Preferences window where you can limit search results and enable Safe Search. You can also set up where all those downloads go!
