Magic Go FOR MAC

Magic Go is an SGF viewer and editor that offers you the possibility to open multiple game diagrams at the same time and analyze the moves or simply replay the games. Magic Go can be used as an educational tool, or to play Go games with your friends.

Within the Magic Go main window, you can either create new diagram files, which are fresh game boards, or open SGF files that contain study cases and analyze them in order to improve your Go playing skills.

Magic Go can open multiple SGF files at the same and keeps them organized into multiple tabs. In the app's main window you can replay each move, see the assigned comments, and even general details about the game session.

In the top area of the Magic Go main window you can find buttons for controlling the game playback, or you can navigate the game tree by comments. Note that you can easily export the current game diagram as an image file.

Once you switch to the editing mode, Magic Go offers you the possibility to add or remove stones, to add labels and draw round, cross, triangle, and square marks, and even edit the metadata associated with the game.

If you decide to try your own moves in a particular situation, Magic Go will create a separate branch and start recording your movements. The altered game can be saved as a different SGF file.

The Magic Go user interface has everything it needs for a game of Go while the utility logs each movement and provides the option for adding comments.

Via the Magic Go Preferences, you also get to adjust the board size, the background image, the stone design, or the alert sounds.

Even though Magic Go can be an educational tool that enables you to analyze past Go games, the app might also be used for recreational purposes.
