It’s easy to forget that many computer users are left-handed, at least those who haven’t just given up and learned to use the mouse with their non-dominant hand. However, if you share your PC with others, you’ll find that swapping the mouse buttons requires you to go through a few steps whenever you wish to make the change.
Mano is a simple open-source application that makes it much easier to swap the functions of the left and right mouse buttons. All you need to do is launch the program and select your preferred hand from a small window that appears on your desktop.
The application is fully portable, so you won’t need to install anything before using it. It consists of a single executable file that can be launched from any location on your drive.
When opened, Mano brings up a small window in the middle of your desktop. From here, you can select which hand you would like to use to control your mouse, and the left and right buttons will be swapped accordingly.
It goes without saying that this is a very simple piece of software. There are no advanced features, such as the ability to swap mouse buttons using a configurable hotkey.
Also, it would have been nice if it were possible to leave the application running in the system tray and make the swap from there, or even do away with the overlay altogether and just have it swap your mouse buttons when it is launched.
Mano is a basic program that can prove quite useful for those who need to swap mouse buttons on a daily basis. It isn’t all that impressive, but it is lightweight and very intuitive.
