MD5 Multi-Checker Portable

This is the portable edition of MD5 Multi-Checker, a simple Java-based Windows application that can identify and reveal the MD5 signatures of multiple files at the same time.

Since there is no setup pack involved, you can extract the program files to any directory on the hard disk and just click the JAR to run.

There is also the possibility of copying MD5 Multi-Checker to a USB pen drive or similar storage unit, in order to run it on any PC with minimum effort, as long as it has Java installed.

An important aspect to take into account is that no new entries are created in the Windows registry or Start menu, leaving the disk clean after removal.

The interface is represented by a normal window with a neatly organized structure, which allows users to add files of any format using either the file browser or drag-and-drop support. The MD5 checksums are immediately shown in the main frame.

You can create a new list, add directories, as well as remove items from the queue. Unfortunately, MD5 Multi-Checker does not integrate an option for saving MD5 signatures to disk or copying them to the Clipboard. However, the latter can be achieved by using the global hotkey on a selected entry.

MD5 Multi-Checker calculated signatures rapidly in our tests and used a low amount of CPU and RAM, so it didn't hog system resources. No error dialogs were shown, and the tool did not hang or crash. Thanks to its intuitive layout and overall simplicity, MD5 Multi-Checker can be used even by novices who want to seamlessly discover MD5 hashes for multiple files at once. On the other hand, the program doesn't come bundled with more advanced settings.
