MinecraftLandGenerator is a super simple and free tool that helps you create land for your Minecraft Beta SMP server. It's pretty easy to use, so even if you're not a tech whiz, you'll be fine!
Getting started is a breeze. First, you need to set up your Java command line and the paths for your Minecraft server in the MinecraftLandGenerator.conf file. Then, just update the server.properties file of your server with the name of the world you want to create.
Once everything is set up, run this program! When you launch your Minecraft server, MinecraftLandGenerator kicks in and automatically creates chunks within a square area of about 330x330 blocks, right around where your spawn point is.
If you're looking to generate more land quickly, just provide X and Y ranges as arguments. This will make MinecraftLandGenerator launch the server over and over again while tweaking the level.dat file between each session. This way, you can create tons of land without needing players to explore it all themselves!
The new land will roughly match the X and Y ranges you've asked for—though it might not be perfect. If you want to adjust where it generates, use the -x and -y switches to change the spawn offset and center everything differently.
This program also has your back when it comes to data safety. It makes a backup of level.dat, saving it as level_backup.dat, before making any changes. If there's already a backup file when you run it again, MinecraftLandGenerator won’t go ahead until you've decided what to do with that backup. You’ll need to handle that manually—either restore or delete it.
