Those acquainted with anime, manga, or other similar Japanese media have numerous resources to procure them from. If you’re not one to prefer using your browser to access the relevant websites for that content, you can still enjoy it by way of desktop apps, which often work just as well as you would expect.

Miru is a desktop app that was designed to provide users with entertainment they know and love. Comics and anime of all kinds are available on this program’s interface, which seeks to be a one-stop solution for fans of those mediums.

Before starting out, it’s best to take a look at the Extension Repository menu. In essence, these are the sources you’ll get your anime and manga from: some work better than others, while some don’t work at all. In my case, the ZeroScans and MangaDex sources returned errors, but luckily there are plenty others to go around, so I was fine in the end.

Anyhow, once you’ve added some extensions, you can comfortably look up the content you’re after. Some specialize in manga, while others are for light novels, comics, or videos. In any case, it’s good to have more than one source for a given format in case the other features content at higher resolutions, for example.

Each entry has its own page, where usually a synopsis, as well as the chapters or episodes, are shown. You have the option to add your favorite works to your Home page by clicking the Favorite button next to their name, which will make it easier to get to them later.

To further this, any content you’re consuming will also be displayed on the Home page, giving you a quick way to resume that episode or chapter when you have the time.

The video quality was satisfactory, and the same was true for the manga scans I looked at. Your mileage may vary based on the extensions used, however.
