When it comes to designing spur gear-based technical systems, it's quite clear you should prepare for a lot of CAD work and possibly even complex calculations on the side.

Straight off, you should know that this application is part of the MITCalc suite for advanced technical, mechanical, and industrial calculations and that it requires Microsoft Excel in order to work as intended.

The most surprising thing about this application might just be the fact that it's incredibly easy to use. For instance, it can be deployed on your computer and subsequently launched just like any other Windows application and not like a typical Excel add-in.

Just like in the case of all other MITCalc apps, you should start off by adding all the required information in the Input Section, marked with green. The application should automatically display the results in the appropriate section (marked with yellow). Please note that there are a few other provided calculations, located in the Additions section.

Also, please note that the utility comes with support for various 2D and 3D systems and provides you with a plethora of export options. The application is also capable of determining the safety coefficients (both static and dynamic), the correct toothing, strength parameters, safety check, as well as performing various corrections based on the overall slippage figures, just to name a few.
