Getting started with MKPlayer is a breeze! You can quickly add your favorite video or audio files by either loading them through the file menu or just dragging and dropping them onto MKPlayer's dock icon. It's all about convenience here!

No Playlist Feature

Now, we did want to try something a bit more ambitious with MKPlayer. We thought it would queue up videos when we opened multiple files using the Next and Previous options in the View menu. But, uh-oh! Instead of queuing, the app froze up and opened each video in its own window at once. So, if you're looking for playlist features, this might not be your go-to player.

Playback Control

On the bright side, MKPlayer has a friendly UI that makes playback control super simple! You get an easy-to-use interface right on top of your current video, so you can adjust things without digging around.

Adjust Video Settings Easily

Another great thing? You can tweak your movie settings like brightness, contrast, gamma, hue, and saturation easily with an OSD panel. Just hit ⌥+⇧+⌘+A to toggle it on or off!

Status Bar Menu Options

This panel isn’t just for looks; it also helps you pick your audio track and subtitle preferences right from the status bar menu. Plus, you can jump into full-screen mode whenever you want!

The Bottom Line

All things considered, downloading MKPlayer for your Mac is definitely worth it if you’re after a straightforward way to play your media files. Sure, it's still got some growing to do before it catches up with big names like VLC and Iina, but it's off to a solid start!
