Google Play is a cool service from Google that lets you browse, buy, and download apps for Android. But that's not all! You can also grab books, magazines, movies, and music. To dive in, all you need is to register for a free Google account.
Once you're set up, you can store up to 20,000 audio tracks in your Google Play account. The best part? You can access your music from any device that’s online! Just use a web browser to get to your tunes.
To make things easier, there's the Music Manager app. This handy tool automatically uploads your music to Google Play or downloads tracks stored online right to your device.
The setup is super simple! You'll enter your Google account info and choose if you want to upload or download music. After that, the Music Manager quietly hangs out in your status bar without bugging you.
If you need it, the menu gives quick access to the music player that opens in your default web browser. Plus, it links straight to Preferences. Just remember: the Music Manager works as a Preferences Pane in System Preferences. You have to head there to get started!
The Music Manager app has two main jobs: first, it helps you upload your music library to Google Play; second, it lets you download songs from your account back onto your device.
The downloading process is pretty straightforward! You can move either your entire library or just the free and purchased tracks. These can go straight into iTunes library or any folder of your choice.
You can easily upload tunes from iTunes library or any other place on your disk too! If you're pulling tracks from iTunes, feel free to choose specific playlists only.
If you're using a Mac and want to upload or download content from Google Play, having Music Manager installed is essential. Even if you're listening through a web browser later on, remember that transferring is done exclusively by this app!
