M4P audio tracks are not supported by all devices which means than your iTunes music library can be played only on certain devices. Music Transformer is a Mac application designed to help you convert the files to other formats by using a CD-RW or a virtual CD.
In order to deal with the conversion process, Music Transformer requires access to a rewritable CD-RW: you can use the built-in CD drive or connect an external one USB. Note that you can use the same CD-RW multiple times.
On the other hand, you can also use the Music Transformer application with a virtual CD-RW and also reduce the processing time. Note that the Music Transformer developers also provide an application for creating virtual CD-RW images: Virtual CD-RW.
Upon launch, Music Transformer evaluates you iTunes library to detect the tracks that can be converted. Within the Music Transformer main window you get to select the source file format, the iTunes playlist you want to process, and the output file format.
To start the process, just press the “Transform” button in the Music Transformer main window and then specify the CD-RW drive you want to use for burning the disk. Music Transformer will let you track the entire process and you will receive a notification when the task is done.
Music Transformer aims to deliver a fast solution for converting tracks in your iTunes library to formats compatible with other devices. However, to be able to use its capabilities, you also need to have access to a physical or virtual CD-RW.
