You can equip a computer with the right tools to enhance any domain of activity, be it design or construction. What's more, there's a whole variety of products with different features and applications like Naval Designer, specially built to let you create a blueprint for ship construction.

The first impression might leave a little something to be desired. Once the interface pops up, multiple windows are put at your disposal, making you feel overwhelmed. However, taking a little time to arrange them manually or through corresponding window placement options, all views are cleverly placed in your workspace, making accommodation less of an issue.

You start off with a preset design, from which to build on any kind of ship. A studio view lets you rotate and move the camera for careful analysis of all angles, while separate displays also provide control of edges and anchor points from fixed cameras for enhanced accuracy.

Several tools are used to define new shapes or work on existing ones. Vertex and surfaces make sure you can easily create new anchor points on planes or spaces, lock visibility, suppress or combine different planes and more.

Accuracy is a key element. As such, several view methods are at your disposal to get a clear view of sections, waterlines, parametric surfaces, vertex net or a simple grid for precise placement. Built-in measurement tools let you get info on distance, radius and angles.

Just to make sure your ship floats, different calculus utilities are at your disposal. With them, you can simulate different loads according to sink points, perform hydrostatic and stability calculus, define sail areas and more. When finished, export options let you save either the entire project under formats like DXF, IGES or ND, as well as surfaces separately.

Taking everything into consideration, we can say that Naval Designer is a handy application packed with different tools with which to build ship blueprints of all kinds. Although the first impression might not be convincing, taking your time to go through editing options, accuracy tools and different calculators makes you quickly change your mind.
