NetStat Agent is a comprehensive and reliable software solution, comprising multiple tools and functions to help you monitor network connections as well as track any suspicious processes or services, even enabling you to reduce the risk of trojan infections.
The program's interface is fairly complex, requiring a bit of getting used to, due to the multiple tabs and sections that you can work with. However, experienced individuals will probably find it very well structured.
The main window features the ‘Connections’ tab where you can view all the processes running on the system, along with the protocol, local and remote address, status, and other details. The ‘Monitor’ section lets you configure a specific set of actions for a process, such as highlight or close it, depending on the situation.
When clicking on an entry in the ‘Connections’ table, NetStat Agent will reveal its properties in detail, in the lower part of the screen, allowing you to ‘Ping’, ‘Trace’ or ‘Whois’ the address, as well as ‘Terminate’ or web search it.
The ‘Statistics’ section enables you to view a list of TCP, UDP, IP or ICMP connections, while the ‘IP Config’ tab lets you view certain details about your network, including the ‘Adapters’ and their information, even ‘Interface’ and ‘DNS Cache’, the last of which can be ‘Flushed’ with a single click.
‘Arp’ allows you to view, add and remove entries from your Address Resolution Protocol’s cache; with the ‘Whois’ component, you can obtain data about an IP address or domain, while the ‘HTTP Checker’ is able to monitor websites and determine if they can be accessed from the web. Other handy tools include ‘DNS Query’, ‘IP Routes’, ‘Ping’ or ‘Tracer’, which further complement the functionality of the application.
In conclusion, NetStat Agent is a complex utility that features an extensive number of functions and components to help you stay on top of all your network connections, enabling you to set up rules for various entries and decide which processes can or cannot run.
