Description

Network Notepad

Network Notepad is a handy little tool for Windows that helps you create network diagrams. It comes with some preset objects and lets you add your own text, which is pretty cool!

User Experience

Now, I have to be honest—the layout isn’t the most user-friendly out there. So, you might need to spend some extra time figuring out how everything works. The program doesn’t come with a help manual, so your best bet is to play around with its features.

Importing and Exporting Data

You can easily import or export data using CSV or NDG file formats. Plus, if you want to save your diagrams, you have options like BMP, GIF, or PNG formats. You can even print them out when you're done!

Built-in Library for Objects

One of the cool things about Network Notepad is that it lets you embed objects right from a built-in library. These components are organized into three groups: Flowchart, General, and Title blocks.

Edit Features

You can add objects by just dragging and dropping them where you want. Moving them around is easy too! And if you make a mistake? No worries! You can undo or redo actions like cut, copy, paste, or delete.

Custom Text Options

You’re free to insert custom text wherever it fits best in your diagram. You can customize it too—change the font style, size, and color to make it look just right! Plus, you can add connection points and even display IP addresses.

Edit Diagram Properties

If you're looking to adjust diagram properties, Network Notepad has got your back! You can name your diagrams, add notes, change canvas size and ratio—basically tweak everything until it’s perfect!

Final Thoughts

Overall, Network Notepad does offer basic features for making network diagrams. It could really use some updates to improve its interface though. If you're still using an old operating system, this tool might be just what you need!

Network Notepad has basic diagram features but lacks user-friendliness. Requires time to decode without a help manual. Still useful for older systems.
