A network systems administrator is responsible for the well-functioning of all the network devices, fixing bottlenecks and making sure each and every component works at top performance. Regardless of the network size, these tasks cannot be carried out without the proper toolset. Having that in mind, the developers of Network Olympus created an all-in-one network monitoring solution that serves network managers and eases their job.
Unlike some of the other applications of its kind, Network Olympus does not require the deployment of an agent package on the network computers. It features a web-based interface and, therefore, a reliable browser that can handle all its requests is mandatory. The workspace is generous and user-friendly, providing one-click access to all the modules and features. The scanner enables administrators to schedule analysis tasks by IP range, workgroup or domain, logging scanning history and allowing data filtering.
Various sensors are used for extracting information about network services and connected devices, as well as their health and working status. With support for more than 20 sensors in three different categories (WinBase, FileSystem and NetBase), Network Olympus comes with support for a wide range of protocols, including HTTP, FTP, TCP, SMTP, POP, Telnet, Imap, and so on. Thus, it can actively monitor website contents, FTP servers, and Windows OS workstations.
All the data collected by the sensors can be viewed in the Activity Log panel. A group of devices can be assigned a specific sensor, which allows the monitoring of a large number of devices without too much hassle.
The application is designed to perform a complete analysis of the network systems, providing the administrator with a complete insight on the network functioning parameters and its configuration. It allows network managers to keep an eye on all the important statistics, such as station availability and performance, traffic flow and bandwidth.
Moreover, if any of the monitored parameters is not in the normal range, Network Olympus is designed to take action. It can be configured to restart a service, launch an application, execute a script or follow a more complex sequence of tasks. This allows it to handle operational maintenance and troubleshooting tasks remotely and without assistance, minimizing the response time to operational failures.
The integrated scenario builder enables administrators to generate custom monitoring schemes to automatically take care of connectivity problems and other similar issues. In other words, they can create programmable scenarios and configure a proper response.
Network Olympus scans the network to check device availability, generates a visual network map for users to see the infrastructure up-close and gathers relevant statistical data about on-going traffic and the network performance. Not only that it can be used for the surveillance of network devices, but it can also handle routine responses to common network failures, saving the administrator time and effort. With its help, network managers can efficiently identify bottlenecks, automate troubleshooting and improve uptime.
