Description

Network View

Network View is a handy tool that shows you a list of all the machines in your specific domain, based on their roles. It's like having a command-line version of Network Neighborhood. If you've ever used 'Net.exe View', you'll find this pretty similar, but with some extra features!

Features of Network View

This software lets you filter the view to show only certain types of machines. So whether you're looking for just workstations, servers, time servers, or SQL servers, it's all possible! You can use commands like:

NetView.exe [\/NTW] [\/NTS] [\/PDC] [\/BDC] [\/PRINT] [\/RAS] [\/SQL] [\/TIME] [\/TS] [\/9x] [\/HEX:0xXXXXXXXX] [\/DOMAIN:domain] [\/T] [\/B] [\/TABS]

Important Notes

NOTE: Keep in mind that this list isn't real-time. It gets compiled and shared between network segments every 12 minutes. So if you add a new machine, it might not show up right away—sometimes it can take up to 48 minutes depending on how complex your network is.

If a machine gets removed from the network, don't expect it to disappear from the browse list instantly either; that can take up to 72 minutes!

Using Help Commands

If you want to see the syntax or get help with commands, just type an argument like \/? or -?. This will always return 1. If everything goes smoothly and completes successfully, you'll get a return value of 0.
