NetWrix File Server Change Reporter Enterprise

Keeping multiple network computers under control is not an easy task, but it also depends on the tools you use. As such, NetWrix File Server Change Reporter Enterprise comes with the means to set up monitoring for computers and machines on a network in order to report and audit file server actions, changes, and other events.

Once installed, the whole operation needs to be configured. This is done through a wizard-driven operation, and it’s possible to set up multiple object types to be monitored. Once a managed object is created, it and its activities can be explored through the tree list in the main window. Most of the task is automated once an object is configured.

The steps of the wizard gradually take you through all setup options, ranging from reporting server, users, and items to track. An SQL server can be configured for advanced reporting capabilities. A monitored item can mean a computer, network machine, shares, SQL server instance, or UNC path to a shared object.

By default, the application automatically monitors activities of the target objects and sends reports to the specified target daily. There’s a built-in scheduler for management of the reporter.

The application is able to monitor failed and successful modification attempts and reads, but also other types of activities. These can be analyzed in the main window, as well as in the delivered report, which can even be done via email by setting up a SMTP connection.
