Northern Tale 2 is the second installment of the Northern Tale series and picks up the action from where the first game left off. After defeating the evil witch Gesta, King Ragnar has to help rebuild his kingdom, but new dangers are always on the horizon.

Essentially, Northern Tale 2 is a classic time management game in which you have to plan your actions carefully, so as to complete the missions put before you as quickly as possible.

The game consists of 50 levels that are completed by achieving a number of objectives. These can range from defeating an enemy to constructing a new building or repairing existing structures.

Of course, in order to complete these tasks you need to acquire various resources. These can be found on the map, obtained from production buildings or traded for.

Most of the missions will be completed with the aid of your kingdom’s vikings, but other characters will occasionally help you out with more specialized tasks.

As you progress through a level, you can sometimes activate certain bonuses that have beneficial effects, but you need to use the right ones at the right time.

You can choose between three gameplay modes, depending on your level of experience or preferences: a classic mode, a 'multiclick' mode that allows you to queue up tasks for your workers and a relaxed mode that eliminates all time limits.

The in-game environments are well-drawn and varied enough keep things interesting, but the soundtrack is not particularly impressive, and the voice acting, in particular, is a bit disappointing.

Overall, Northern Tale 2 sticks to the same formula put together by the previous installment. It is a classic time management game that does not bring anything new to the genre, but should provide you with a pleasant experience if you also enjoyed the first game in the series.
