NTP Plotter

NTP Plotter is a dedicated third-party software solution that was designed to help users generate offset, frequency error and jitter graphs from NTPD loopstat files in a quick and effortless manner.

The application was created due to the need to plot the performance recorded by NTPD in loopstats files.

The jitter graph consists of an extra averaged parameter that is displayed in a detailed manner, in order for small changes to be identified with ease. Such small changes include time-stamping of the change from user-mode into kernel-mode.

The offset plot estimated the RMS offset variation per hour so that users can compare it to the mean offset level. It is worth mentioning that since the NTP keeps the current loopstats files open (as they are generated), the NTP Plotter may not be able to display data from today.

The application can be used in combination with command-line arguments. Therefore users can specify a folder containint peerstats or loopstats files, a single or multiple documents and even a ZIP archive that packs several of these files. The same sources depicted above can be also used by dragging and dropping them over the main window in Windows Explorer.
