Origin FOR MAC

Origin has been available for Mac since 2013, admittedly with a much smaller game library than what you get on Windows. Nevertheless, there are plenty of EA titles to keep Mac users entertained, and the desktop app is quite capable.

Origin for Mac offers everything you would expect from a game client, such as library management, access to the store, cloud saves, social features, an in-game overlay, and more.

Game launchers may be popping up everywhere, with various publishers trying to take advantage of their monetary potential, but EA's distribution platform has been around for quite a while and is already an established name. Given the number of franchises under EA's control, you certainly have plenty of games to choose from.

You aren't limited to just EA titles though. If there are non-Origin games that you would like to launch with this app, you have the option of adding them to your library.

Once you get past all the Origin Access ads, you will find a well-built, intuitive and feature-rich game launcher. Managing your library is a walk in the park, you can browse for games on the store, manage your downloads, chat with your friends, and even stream to Twitch directly from the app.

Customization options are also quite impressive. Among other things, you can select your preferred home screen, limit download speed, enable or disable cloud saves, and manage notifications in-depth. If there's an annoying feature that you want disabled, chances are there is an option for it.

In the end, your personal preference is often not a factor when deciding which launcher to use. Most EA games are now available only via Origin, so you pretty much have to use this client if you want to play them.

Nevertheless, as much as we hate not having a choice in the matter, EA has done a very good job making Origin an intuitive and feature-filled platform that any gamer should be happy with.
