PaDEL-Survival

Cancer is the most dangerous disease known to man. Even if some forms of cancer are curable, some are not. Usually, a patient suffering from a deadly form of cancer will have their medical examinations done to establish how many days the body will keep up the fight. PaDEL-Survival is a smart application designed to calculate the same time interval, based on the test results. It can be used as a method of double-checking the doctor's verdict.

Because this application is aimed at people of all ages, having a complicated and overwhelming interface would disadvantage older users. PaDEL-Survival doesn't need to be installed in order to be deployed. Extracting the archive and launching the JAR file should bring the program's layout up.

There are five results input where one can type down the values for attributes such as albumin, absolute neutrophil count, ALT, ECOG status 0-1, and number of metastatic sites. Once all details are in, you can press the Run button.

PaDEL-Survival is not going to analyze the test results and come up with a certain number of days. As a matter of fact, the user can only find out if the subject will survive beyond 120 days after a process called palliative chemotherapy is followed. If the attributes values determine that the patient will live for 120 more days, then a Yes will be placed near the results, or a No if the blood test is not favorable.

PaDEL-Survival is a helpful tool for cancer patients who wish to have a second opinion, besides the one of the doctor. Even tough it can generate a results based on blood tests only, it would'n be advised to rely on this tool without the doctor's opinion.
